Is it okay to reblog one of your favorite old blog posts? Something you know no one has read before? I’m going to give it a shot today because my neck is bothering me and I need a typing break.
What I love about this post is I wrote it while I was working on The Six Train to Wisconsin. It’s kinda neat to look back and remember the process of creating the characters for the book I’m now shopping to agents.
Here’s the original post on Character Birthing from 2010.
Not weird at all. I read it and enjoyed it. ๐
I meant it’s not weird to reblog one of you old posts. ๐
LOL. Thanks! I might do it from time to time. My blog didn’t have too many visitors in the early days. ๐
I know the feeling. ๐
But look at you now triple digit comments–wickedly impressive! ๐
That’s only because I pad them with my own. And pay people. ๐
LOL. It’s because you are so wonderfully funny. ๐
Aww, thanks, Kourtney. Have a good one! ๐
You too! ๐
Thanks. I figured it’s a really old blog post so it might be fun to repost it. ๐
Hope you feel better!
Thanks! Trying to rest my neck this weekend. ๐
I’d love to see more of your early posts this way!
Aw thanks JM! Some of my older blogs don’t have pictures because I was such a newbie I had no idea how to insert one. LOL. Ah the early days of blogging!
It’s perfectly fine to resurrect an old post, I know plenty of peeps who do! It’s early days on my blog too. You’ve done incredibly well!
Cool! Glad it’s okay. ๐ Thanks! I was lucky to find so many awesome people who are interested in writing. Before that it was very low hittage here. ๐
Thanks, I definitely hadn’t read it and I enjoyed hearing about the “birthing” process–especially the role of scrubbing the bathroom. ๐
It was buried under a couple years of posting. ๐ Thanks! Glad to hear you liked it. That book had the best story in terms of how it came to be. I still laugh when I think about scrubbing the toilet and fleshing out the husband. ๐
I think it’s a great thing to do…and enjoyed it, thanks!
anne
Thanks Anne! Happy to hear you liked the post too. ๐
That was great. I did the same thing recently. Funny how something can trigger an entire character or story line. Incidentally I posted the wrong recipe in my last blog so it you see the same post with a different recipe that would be me. Ach.
It really is weird how when your hands are busy your mind can go to great places. ๐ LOL. Don’t worry I have a habit of instantly posting things I meant to post the next day–that’s why Thursday had two posts and Friday had none. Ugh.
Hey – this was great. Nothing wrong with giving a post another chance.
Thinking/creating while cleaning – funny how the brain works! Do you think it’s something about occupying the body so the mind can fly free?
Anyway, like the photo, too.
Thanks! I really loved that post too. I always come up with a solution to a writing problem while cleaning, cooking, or walking the dog. I think when you focus your hands and mind elsewhere, that subconscious problem solver leaps into action. ๐ Thanks–it’s from a church in Italy. One of the grave markers of a famous person. ๐
Good to repost. A lot of us weren’t blogging when you first posted, so nice.
Thanks MJ! I will try to introduce the best of 2010 posts. ๐ Glad you enjoyed it!
