Visiting the City

May I start by saying I hate the WordPress app for iPads. It always always loses a blog post when I’ve just finished drafting it. WordPress app, I shake my fist at you.

Quick recap. I’m in New York. Two days of doctor appointments and visiting friends. Last night I had dinner at Maryann’s a Mexican chain restaurant in the city. Tasty food, but we were seated next two the shrillest voices I’ve ever been tortured by. And the more they drank, the worse it got. We could hardly hear each other over the cackling crows.

Hit tasti-d for a mint ice-cream. Yummie. Walked around the city. It’s always bittersweet to see the changes since I left. Somehow a part of me expects things to remain untouched when I vacate a place. So that I can always come back to it. Selfish, right?

This AM, up at 8. Ew. Then to doctor for vacinations. Why do they always unprepare me for the pain? The Hep A caused pain to radiate down my arm into my fingers, rendering my arm weak for a good half hour. It was sore for hours later. But they never give you the full warning before they inject you.

Today got my hair cut at 2B. The ever fabulous Daniel worked his magic and my hair went from wretched bird’s nest to sultry vixen.

Dinner with Brett later and then Friday another doctor appointment. Maybe lunch with Ant and a train back to CT.

    Hi Kourtney!

First off, screw that WordPress app 😉
Okay, that being said, I’ve got to admit that I’m a little jealous of you. My last time in NYC is quite some time ago and I gotta say that I miss the city–and the good food 🙂

Sorry to hear about the painful vaccine shots. They suck but I always comfort myself with the thought that they are better than a dangerous and potentially more painful illness.

Anyways, enjoy NYC + have a great time!

    • Lol. Actually it screwed me. The weather ended up being gorgeous. I’m really lucky my friends here keep putting me up. Otherwise I couldn’t afford all the visits. It’s really all about expectations. If you tell me best and worst case scenario, I’m prepared and nothing phases me. If you tell me it’s a pinch and I get radiating pain, that freaks me out. 🙂 Walking to doctor appt this AM, then grabbing lunch before heading back to CT.
