Home Sick

Is there anything worse than being stuck at home sick in the springtime?

Missing Edgar week sucks. Chronic nausea and feeling 90 just make it worse. Thn there’s the gurgly moans issuing from my stomach. And the burning inside my belly is so not fun.

The one bright spot?

My dog, Emerson. He seems to have some sort of innate sense of when I’m sick. Because he always cuddles with me and stays by my side. Reaching over to stroke his soft fur makes me feel better.

Did I mention that my brain feels like mush? Or that I have aches and pains in every joint of my body? Or that  no matter how much I sleep, I’m exhausted?

What really irks me is when I wake up I think I have energy,  but it dissipates within 30 minutes. Now I’m just cranky and achy.  And I feel like I’m on the verge of tears. I really really really hate being sick.

Stomach bugs are the worst. But I’m really grateful that I have my puppy (my seven-year-old puppy) to keep me company. Now I’m going to go back to watching Vampire Diaries on iTunes.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re sick and stuck at home. This really stinks and trust me, I know what I’m talking about. Cuddling with your dog and trying to make the best out of it is pretty much the best thing you can do.

Unfortunately, I can only offer you a lot of positive thoughts and a nice and warm “get well soon” 🙂

    • I think it being Edgar week and spring really compounds how bad I feel. Emerson has been great. He even sits in my lap as I eat breakfast. Thanks for the positive thoughts. My brain is less foggy today. I did some light edits of my novel. Now I’m contemplating a shower. 🙂

I hope you feel better soon, Kourtney. I’m glad your pet is there to soothe you. Just get your rest and give yourself an excuse to go out and get pampered when this is all over with.

    • Thanks Cynthia. 🙂
Emerson is the best friend I’ve ever had. No matter how sick I am, he loves me and sticks by me. I just want to get back to editing and working on the novel. Something to salvage the week. I’m getting a massage next week for my neck. So that’s something to look forward to.
