To Nobu with Love

Dear Nobu,

I have never tasted food so delicious, so fresh, so scrumptious in my life. I’ve been a lover of Nobu for 10 years. Had my birthday at Nobu at 23. Went to Matsuhisa in L.A. several times when I lived out west. Even got his autograph once when he was cooking there. Hit Nobu in Vegas too.

So when OL was visiting, we had to have on quintessential New York fine dining experience. I picked Nobu on a Wednesday night when we could take our time and spend 2 hours dining. We started with daiquiri cocktails. Delicious and perfect for summer. The crushed raspberries, the rum, the sake and the coconut milk all melded together into one refreshing cocktail. We started with the salmon tartare and the salmon new style sashimi–delicate, refreshing, and tender. Then we went on to the black miso cod which tastes just like a buttermilk biscuit. We also had to rock shrimp yuza taco. Delightful flavors that awakened the taste buds.

We finished the main course with 3 cut rolls: yellowtail scallion, japanese eel and tuna. The sushi melted in your mouth. For dessert I had the bento box with chocolate cake and green tea ice cream. OL had the cassis sorbet. We rounded it out with plum sake. What a way to end the meal. Both of us have a sweet tooth. It was so delightful. I wanted to kiss myself because the plum sake tasted that good!

So Nobu thank you for one of the best dinners of my life. 🙂

    Very
Sensual meal. Love nobu too. Bet you’ll miss ny .

    • Some things I will miss. But honestly, I couldn’t enjoy the city with work. Dinner on a weeknight just felt like a hassle. Weekends are super crowded with touristas and zero fun. But I am getting to enjoy the city now. 🙂

What do you think?
